My Inside Opened Out
My Inside Opened Out. I have loved poetry all my life: read it, recited it, quoted it, taught it, analysed it, encouraged pupils and family members to write it… Finally, at the beginning of 2020, the deposit of many years came pouring out of me, with the lockdown that soon followed giving ample opportunity for development. Here are my poems, from the first beginnings, exploring my experiences of: nature; life, love and loss; therapy; and faith My nside Opened Out
I have a fascination with the creative communication that is possible through artistic media: the direct impact of visual art, straight from the senses to the heart, its ability to move us emotionally and to make connections beyond the workings of logic; the way music takes us on a mental and emotional journey that is again beyond the limitations of reason and our material circumstances; the power of words to crystallise our experiences and to open up new links and possibilities.
